The National Football League (NFL) does not only focus on male fans of this popular sport, but also on the growing group of female NFL fans.
Besides wearing all kinds of team clothing, including hats, jerseys and large foam hands, female fans now can also support their favorite football team with COVERGIRL fanicures. These so-called fanicures are customized nail-art designs, inspired by the logos and colors of the 32 NFL-teams.
Being a fan is a beautiful thing
“If you’ve ever tailgated or been to an NFL game, you understand the passion and emotion that goes into being a fan – it’s not just about the competition on the field on game day, but also the rivalries in the stands, at home, with friends or even around the office water cooler,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and General Manager, COVERGIRL Cosmetics during the launch of the COVERGIRL fanicures. “As an iconic American brand, it made perfect sense for COVERGIRL to team up with the NFL in support of America’s favorite pastime, empowering women with a fun, new way to showcase their spirit. Being a fan can be a beautiful thing!”
COVERGIRL and NFL
Bringing the NFL nail-art designs to the market is just a part of the partnership between the Procter & Gamble owned company and the National Football League. Female football fans will also have the opportunity to experience these fanicures in action before or after the games in mobile manicure stations or inside the stadium in NFL Style lounges. COVERGIRL will also participate in other pre-game activities outside the stadium.
Also the NFL is pleased with the partnership between the NFL and COVERGIRL, said Rhiannon Madden, Director of Apparel at the National Football League: “This unique collaboration will bring new meaning to wearing your team’s colors. We are thrilled to be teaming up with COVERGIRL to celebrate our female fans with another innovative way to combine their passions for football and style.”
Social Media and Fanicure
Via various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest and Vine, COVERGIRL tries to engage with female NFL fans by providing How-to articles, offering special fanicure products, sharing pictures and more.
