Super Bowl 2018 in Minneapolis

Minneapolis

The NFL Super Bowl final in 2018 will take place in Minneapolis in the American state of Minnesota.

The game will take place in the $1 billion new stadium of the Minnesota Vikings, which was opened in 2016. This new home for the Minnesota-based NFL team can accommodate 72,000 football fans.

It is the second time that Minnesota is hosting the Superbowl, the final of the NFL season. The 26th Super Bowl in 1992 between Washington and Buffalo (37 – 24) was played in the Metrodome stadium, which was demolished. Because of that demolition, the Minnesota Vikings played two seasons in the stadium of the University of Minneapolis.

Some football fans are worried about possible cold conditions during Super Bowl LII, but that is not a concern that is shared by owners in the NFL, who picked Minnesota for the 2018 Super Bowl final.

The recent Super Bowls were played at:

  • 2015 – University of Phoenix Stadium – Arizona
  • 2016 – Levi’s Stadium – San Francisco
  • 2017 – Reliant Stadium – Houston
