Gaming

Former soccer player and manager and Ballon d’Or winner Ruud Gullit has announced that he will be investing in the development of esports by becoming an ambassador of his own FIFA esports Academy, named Team Gullit. Team Gullit is the world’s first professional independent academy focused on the game FIFA.

Training and coaching

Before the launch of Team Gullit, talented FIFA-players had a difficult time breaking through internationally without being part of a professional football club. The team offers promising talents professional guidance and training to help them take their game to the next level so that they can become the stars of the next generation. The academy supports its players through training and coaching to become a better player. In addition, it develops its own software tools to analyze and improve the gameplay of the talents on both strategic and tactical level. Team Gullit also guides its talents in dealing with social media, the press and other attention that professional esporters have to deal with.

Ruud Gullit’s sons

“I ended up in the world of FIFA because of my two sons. One of them plays professional soccer and my other son enjoys playing FIFA more than playing soccer in real life. When I visited the FIFA World Championships last year, I realized that there is such an enormous world behind the video game. The strategy and the choices that the FIFA-players make have a strong resemblance to the real-life sport”, says ambassador Ruud Gullit. “I’m proud to link my name to organizations like Team Gullit that ensure that the talents are properly supervised to ensure that these boys can develop and become an even better player. Becoming an ambassador means that I can create new opportunities for these talents and share my learnings on professional sports from when I was a young talent.”

Team Gullit Roster

The roster of the team contains Floris Jorna (18), Julian van den Berg (17) and Dani Visser (16).These three players are considered to be among the most promising talents in the worldof FIFA.
